Deorro has released his third studio album, BOTAS & RAVE. The 11-track project is a technical evolution for the producer, leaning heavily into high-tempo structures—even hitting 160 BPM—while integrating the fundamental rhythms of cumbia, banda, and duranguense.

The album functions as a modern exploration of zapateado and quebradita, genres characterized by fast footwork and brass-heavy arrangements. By applying hard-hitting electronic drops and techno-leaning percussion to these traditional foundations, Deorro moves beyond simple “Latin EDM” tropes into a more specific, high-velocity fusion.

The album opens with ‘El Tomate,’ a collaboration with La Adictiva that establishes the project’s framework: blending sinaloense brass with aggressive electronic synthesis. This momentum carries into ‘Un Poquito Mas’ and ‘Activo,’ the latter of which utilizes steady basslines and techno elements specifically engineered for festival environments.

In ‘Botas Con Bass,’ Deorro partners with duranguense icons Montez De Durango. The track is a literal interpretation of the album’s title, stripping back the polish of mainstream dance music in favor of the raw, rapid-fire energy of zapateado.

The latter half of the album focuses on rhythmic experimentation:

• ‘Soni23ball’: A collaboration with 3BallMTY that revisits the tribal guarachero movement with updated, massive drop structures.
• ‘Que Rico Bounce’: A technical standout featuring Rayburger that utilizes aggressive stereo panning and call-and-response patterns.
• ‘Techno Quebradita’: A hybrid track that alternates between traditional banda sections and industrial electronic breaks.

The project concludes with ‘El Feo,’ featuring Voces Del Rancho. The track centers on accordion and guitar motifs, reinforced by EDM percussion and vocal chants, serving as a final nod to the rural Mexican sounds that inform Deorro’s production style.
