We’ve got great news from one of the most notable Progressive producers out there.

Berlin-based producer Budakid has announced his debut album, Dreams Stretched Beyond, arriving July 3rd on his own Flores label. The Dutch multi-instrumentalist marks this milestone with the release of lead single ‘Endless‘, featuring his own vocals for the first time in a prominent role.

Budakid’s journey to this debut LP spans nearly two decades in electronic music. Born into a musical family with Indonesian heritage, he started as a drummer before discovering drum machines, with rhythm remaining central to his production style. After studying music theory for four years at a conservatorium, he gradually found the confidence to incorporate his voice into his work while continuing to produce and record everything himself.

The foundations for Dreams Stretched Beyond were laid during a period when Budakid stepped away from the noise and spent several years living in the Alps. The mountain isolation allowed him to focus deeply on the creative process, tuning out distractions to write the music that would eventually become the album. Surrounded by quiet landscapes, he developed the material in solitude.

As a proper master at work, the first single to be lifted off of the entire LP, ‘Endless’, has a proper meaning and a reason to exist. Budakid says it reflects the uncertainty that comes with choosing a life in music, a sense of moving forward without guarantees, falling endlessly into whatever direction the future may hold. When someone shares that fall beside you, it becomes easier to keep moving.

‘Endless’ is a reflection of what it is like being an artist. Almost blindfolded, we fall endlessly into wherever destiny may take us. Are we good enough? What does the future bring for us? There is an endless vagueness and insecurity that comes with this artist lifestyle. No certainty, only our own energy and motivation to move endlessly forward. It is like the act of breathing. The first lyrics express that train of thought. The second part is more about wishing for hope and security.

The track builds around warm keyboards, with subtle and clever shifts between major and minor scales. Echoing synths gradually build in a spacious, almost cinematic production. Budakid’s soulful vocals enter softly with the lyrics: “Thoughtful, stepping / Through the dust / See me falling, endless. Thoughtful, stepping / Wish me luck / You should hold me endless“. You can already tell this album is beyond deep and complex — which we love.
