The Italian duo, Mathame, known for their excelling skills as DJ and producers inside the melodic side of the industry are set to begin a new chapter in their career. Focusing on the club environment, sounds and crowds, Mathame returns with a new song created for this precise setting. Titled ‘Yogen’, Mathame’s new song relies heavily on the inspiration drawn by the duo hailing from Milano from the Japanese culture.

Mathame describes themselves as the creators of the EmoTech sound. A combination between cinematic atmospheres with late-night electronic music made for dancing. A movement where emotional storytelling meets futuristic sound and technology. With this project, the duo moves another step forward in their goal of creating a storyline and a new universe where it takes place.

‘Yogen’: Eastern traditions meetdance music

At the center of the latest track by Mathame is a looping Japanese mantra. It runs through the production giving it a hypnotic thread and sense. Yogen highlights the connection between the duo and Japanese culture. The title is written 予言 in Japanese, meaning “prophecy”. We’re not exactly sure what does this mean. However, we’re certain it will tie up nicely once everything’s done and said.

A stripped back song that still manages to have an expansive, ever-growing feeling. ‘Yogen’ is designed to work in the room. The track has already been circulating across recent sets, with early support at Ultra, Coachella and Factory Town, to name a few. We have no doubt that this will turn into the first step for a top-tier project. Certainly, one that brings together the best of both the festival world and the club one, creating a story as magic as electronic music itself.
